As we're now 5 games into the MDHL season, and with the Labor Day break next weekend, we wanted to provide an update on the upcoming schedule of showcases/tournaments that supplement our regular season league games.
Based on age, position, and expected role, teams at the U15, U16, and U18 age groups are chosen based on player evaluations during league play. As we spend a considerable amount of time trying to put the right teams together, knowing your potential interest is immensely helpful. If you have conflicts and/or don’t want to be considered for any of the specific events listed below, please let your coaches know.
That being said, being asked to play in the first showcase/tournament does not guarantee you will be asked to play in the next. You will also not be penalized for not playing in the first. Selections are based on performance. For that reason, raising your level of competition in league play is extremely important.
Considering we’re still in August, we’ve seen some really good hockey the past few weeks, and we’re looking forward to the level of play continuing to rise over the next two months.
