Dubuque Fighting Saints forward Quinn Preston has committed to play college hockey at Ohio State University.

“It’s a good fit because Ohio State is only three hours from home, they have amazing facilities, the school is beautiful, I will get a great degree, and I felt right at home while I was there,” Preston said. “Being here in Dubuque has turned me into the player I am today. I have learned so much while I have been here. I couldn’t have done it without my coaches and teammates pushing me along the way.”

The Trenton, Michigan native has played extremely well in his first USHL season. He is fifth on the Fighting Saints in scoring with 31 points (12G, 19A) in 47 games, including an impressive 10-game point streak that included 15 points (5G, 10A), ranging between Dec. 10, 2016 and Jan. 14, 2017.

Preston was a fourth round pick, 60th overall by Dubuque in the 2016 USHL Phase II Draft and previously played for the Topeka Roadrunners (NAHL) and Trenton High (USHS). He becomes the 20th player to have played for the Fighting Saints this season that is committed to a Division I school.
